Search Scamdex & Scamalot
An Email with the Subject "Attn: Web-mail User," was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Thu, 30 Jul 2009 08:20:07 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "Help-desk Team" <kkinhun@w7zrlt1kf.privat.t-online.de>.
The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.
Attn: Web-mail User, This message is from our Help-desk Team to all web-mail account owners. We noticed that web-mail account has been compromised by spammers. It seems they have gained access to web mail accounts and have been using it for illegal internet activities. The center is currently performing maintenance and upgrading it's data base. We intend upgrading our Email Security Server for better online services. You are to send us your account information immediately to enable us reset your account. A new password will be sent to you once this is done. Send the information as follows *User-name:(.........) *Password:(.........) *Alternate email:(.........) In order to ensure you do not experience service interruptions, please reply this email immediately and provide the following information above to prevent your account from being deactivated from our database.(Note who refuse to do as we say may losthis or her account.)
