This Email with the Subject "Attention Online Service Customers" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Wed, 23 Aug 2006 08:37:11 -0700 and has been classified a s a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "M. Y. Waller" <phoneinfo@online.downeysavingsonlinebanking.com>.< /p>

The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purpos es.

Dear Downey Savings Client,

Because of the rapid increase in cases of fraudulent activity in the field of online banking, we implemented a number of methods which increase the security level. They ensure your money is absolutely safe. We need your 'urgent' phone number to contact you when needed, for the updated security system to operate effectively. Our advice is to use a cell phone number or a phone where you are most easily available. Please pay attention this procedure is of great importance and should be treated seriously.

In order to fill in your urgent number, please pass the authorization process and follow the tips offered by the system. We will be performing system maintenance Wednesday, August 23rd, from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM PST. Online Banking access may be unavailable during this time. This is why we ask of you to complete this process before our servers are taken offline for maintenance and update.
